Farm City Luncheon 2018: Where Agriculture, Economics and the Environment Meet

Article Posted on November 2, 2018

Agriculture, economics, science and the environment and how they intersect are all on the table at this year’s Farm City Luncheon on Thursday, November 15, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

For the second year in a row, One Martin will host the Farm City luncheon at Kai Kai Farm in Indiantown, where Carl Frost and his team will present a delicious meal that features locally grown and locally sourced products.

The guest speaker this year is Cody Beard, Manager of Precision Agriculture for Florida Crystals. Cody will educate the audience on sustainable agricultural practices currently in use and the science behind them. He has promised to bring along some “cool stuff”---hyper-refined tools and techniques that enable ag to work smarter, increase efficiency, and maximize profits while respecting environmental concerns.

As part of our ongoing efforts to demonstrate the mutual economic and environmental challenges and opportunities that face farmers, ranchers, civic leaders and residents in building a more prosperous and sustainable community, One Martin will then present a panel discussion with Ted Astolfi, CEO of the Economic Council of Martin County; Ron Edwards, President and CEO of Evans Properties, a family-owned agribusiness and real estate company  based in Vero Beach;  and Ransom Hartman, President of the Martin County Farm Bureau.

The luncheon is almost sold out, with just a few single tickets available at $65 each. Contact Melissa Zolla at melissa@fireflyforyou.com or 772-287-5272 for tickets.
