Lake Okeechobee reservoir 'placeholder' OK'd by U.S. House committee

A U.S. House of Representatives committee Wednesday approved water project legislation that includes a "placeholder" for the reservoir to cut Lake Okeechobee discharges.

The placeholder language inserted into the Water Resources and Development Act passed by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will be replaced by full authorization of the Lake O reservoir once the Army Corps of Engineers gives a favorable review of the project…
