Martin County spending on Lake Point lawsuit tops cost of AAF legal battle

MARTIN COUNTY — The county has spent about $3.4 million so far defending itself against a lawsuit by the Lake Point rock mine. That's more than double what it has spent fighting All Aboard Florida.

The lawsuits are the most expensive legal efforts Martin County currently is involved in. Together, they account for about $4.9 million in legal costs. About $1.5 million has been spent on outside attorneys and experts in the fight against All Aboard Florida, according to the county…
